Back in Brazil
hey everyone… let me start by saying - i’m not dead… lol. since some of you showed an interest in what i might have to share - no matter how lame or stupid… haha - i decided to come out of hibernation
i started to write a response back to all the comments on my last post but when i clicked submit i lost everything and didn’t feel like re-writing it all, so i decided to post instead. thank you guys for reading my blog. i hold you all, my internet buddies and vox neighbors, very close to my heart.
anyway, i’ve been in brazil for almost 2 months, and i have to say that i’m having a great time. i hadn’t seen my fam for… get this… 8 long years, can you believe that? so, i’m enjoying every bit of time here. i’ve been eating like crazy too, all those delicious childhood brazilian dishes that i’ve so dreamed about while away… needless to say i gotta be stingy on my eating when i get back… yikes… i love eating… hmmm… maybe after HUMANA 2.0…
anyhoo, the city is Salvador in the state of Bahia. the city was one of the port of entrances of slavery in brazil. about 7-8 people out of 10 are of african descent in this city. you will find a strong presence of the african culture here which makes this place super interesting, some people still speak yoruba, an ancient african dialect.
thought you might be interested in seeing some cool pics of where i’ve been:
if you’re ever in salvador you must take a ride on this elevator. it’s called Elevador Lacerda. This elevator connects the upper city to the lower city, and vice-versa… duh, of course. btw, the elevator ride is less than 10 sec… so fun… and it only costs 5 brazilian cents.
views from the upper city to the lower city
the Fort of San Pedro… it’s a museum now
Mercado Modelo - the reason we rode the elevator down… shopping for souveniers
this market was the way that food and merchandise was brought in and distributed to the city in the 1800s, now it’s a turist attraction
i’ll show you some of what’s in the upper upper city in my next post.
keep dreaming!

Hey. Looks like you’ve been busy traveling around. Commuting sucks, but the job is great. I legitimately love it. By the way - we just got put on iTunes. The album is called “The Quick Goodbye”, and the band is Riddley. Just a reminder. But if previous links did not work, you can also catch us there. Thanks for reading my goofy, awkward blogs, by the way. I know they don’t come around often, but a big thank you for reading them when they do come around. Miss you guys and hope you’re doing well.

Niza, your pictures are always so beautiful and full of color! I’m just now starting to get into photography (my background is in video production) so taking stills is still kinda new to me. It’s good to get to read more of your stuff. Take care and bring back some brazillian cuisine for me

Take me to Brazil with you! Or come to me
I’m missing you right now. I need to come up with something new to comment on your blogs though, besides the depressing feeling that I miss you. But I do and I will until we are together again eating Peanut M&M’s! Mmmmmmmm…. that sounds so good right now!
